For executives in practically any field, security is something that is completely necessary. A company doesn’t want their business secrets to spill out or for someone to hack into their information. Companies are not a fan of having to put security regulations on their budget as a cost, however, because they know that this is something that will never make them money. People don’t realize that this just isn’t true! Having security measures in place will help to make sure that a company’s value remains high. The biggest goal of the security regulations department is to make sure that there is no incident tat might impact the employees, the company infrastructure, or the inventories of the company in a negative way. Of course, a securities regulation that is excellent will be able to block intrusions for more areas of the company than just these three, but these three are probably argued to be the most important to a company. When part of a company is compromised, a company will typically have to stop their operations and will have to make sure that they fix the problem.

There are a lot of people that agree that it is much harder to fix a problem after it occurs than it is to prevent the problem from happening in the first place. In addition to this, when a company has to halt operations, they will end up losing money. It would make more sense for a company to spend this money on getting extra security measures than for a company to spend it later when they need to fix a problem.

Companies have to remember that when a security breach occurs, the public will typically hear about it at some point. This is going to be true especially if the company’s product or service that they offer to the community is affected directly. People don’t want to buy from a company that has a bad reputation.

Something else for companies to think about is that some employees may decide that they don’t like to work for a company without any type of security measures in place. These employees may feel that the blame is going to be put onto them if something bad happened. An employee might end up feeling ashamed if they work for a company that had a very serious security breach as well.
